Abstract

The article presents international experiences in implementing the policy for Payment for Forest Environmental Services (PFES) from countries such as Costa Rica, Colombia, Mexico, Indonesia, and Cambodia. These PFES programs have significantly contributed to forest conservation, local economic development, and ecological improvements. The article also draws out lessons for Vietnam in applying the PFES policy, emphasizing the importance of building a solid legal framework, rational payment planning and ensuring close coordination among stakeholders.
