JSM recognizes the responsible use of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in scholarly publishing while emphasizing that human authors remain fully accountable for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of their work.
AI systems cannot be listed as authors because they
cannot
assume responsibility for published research.

Any substantial use of AI for the items above must be
disclosed in the manuscript.
Editors & Reviewers
Editors and reviewers must not upload confidential
manuscripts or reviewer reports to publicly accessible AI
systems without explicit authorization from the Journal.
Guiding Principle
The use of AI must never compromise confidentiality, peer
review integrity, or research ethics.
