How do I submit a manuscript?
All manuscripts must be submitted through the Journal's online submission system.
Is there an Article Processing Charge (APC)?
No. JSM does not charge authors any fees for submission or publication.
How long does peer review take?
The average time to the first editorial decision is typically 6–8 weeks, although this may vary depending on reviewer availability and manuscript complexity.
Can I submit a manuscript that has been posted as a preprint?
Yes, provided that authors disclose the existence of the preprint and the manuscript is not under review elsewhere.
Does the Journal accept supplementary materials?
Yes. Authors may submit datasets, appendices, multimedia files, questionnaires, software code, and other supplementary materials.
May I recommend reviewers?
Yes. Authors may suggest potential reviewers. However, the final selection of reviewers is made solely by the Editor-in-Chief or the handling Associate Editor.
What happens after acceptance?
Accepted manuscripts undergo professional copyediting, language editing, typesetting, author proof review, DOI registration, and online publication before assignment to a scheduled issue.
